610 EAST 83RD STREET

Brearley aims to reorganize and renovate 610, while upgrading the essential systems of the 1929-constructed building. Renovations will occur one project at a time, during the summers. The costs will be supported through new gifts to the School, and the timing of each project will be contingent upon fundraising.
 
RENOVATION PROJECTS
 
Middle and Upper School Library, 10th floor  
Relocation from 1st floor3,900 square feet, more group and individual study areas, adjustable bookshelves, seminar room for classroom instruction, archival space, natural light, beautiful river views
 
Visual Arts Studios, 12th floor
Relocation from 7th floor, creating additional space, brand-new digital photography lab
 
Cafeteria and Lobby, 1st floor
Expansion and relocation of Cafeteria from lower level, restoration of Lobby
 
INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADES  
 
Elevators (completed summer 2017 and summer 2018)
Internal systems—climate control, plumbing, electrical
