Why did we move to a waitlist so quickly?
We moved to a waitlist out of an abundance of caution to avoid overselling the event. Unlike a major ticketing company, Brearley does not have the capability to fully automate this process—we are processing ticket purchases manually and our goal is to distribute tickets efficiently and fairly. We appreciate your patience as we work towards this goal.
What are our chances of getting off the waitlist?
We anticipate that many people currently on the waitlist will ultimately have the chance to buy tickets. We cannot say for sure for any individual family, but we DO expect to release additional seats, especially as people’s plans shift closer to the date. We will work diligently to make sure that every seat is filled on the night of the event.
What is the process for releasing tickets from the waitlist?
We have already released an initial group of waitlist tickets. More seats will be released as they become available. We will continue this process until the event. We will reach out to those on the waitlist via email and phone. Once tickets are offered, families will have two days to purchase tickets. We will do our best to follow up and make sure everyone who wants a ticket is able to purchase one.
Why didn’t we choose a larger venue?
The options for larger venues were too large for our community and therefore cost prohibitive. This venue already seats hundreds more guests than we typically host at a Brearley Benefit.
What should I do now?
Please be patient and know that there is definitely still hope for securing a ticket! Even if you are not in the first group of waitlist tickets released, we recommend holding the date if you are really interested in attending. We will continue to reach out to those on the waitlist over the six weeks between now and the Benefit.
