Captains' Picks of the Week:
Our CPOW is Riley Neubauer! We are so impressed by how seamlessly she has entered the group even though she goes to Chapin rather than Brearley. She is supportive of her teammates, determined to improve in practices and games, and fun to spend time with. Her positive attitude is supplemented by her immense skill in softball. As a pitcher, Riley plays a crucial role on the team, but she rises to this challenge, consistently striking out batters and even making plays in the field herself. We could not be more thrilled to have her on the team and we can't wait to see what she accomplishes in the rest of her high school career!
Track: Anabel Viera
Track’s Captains’ Pick of the Week is Anabel Viera! This girl has grit. In the 400-meter hurdles—a race that calls for speed, skill, endurance, and courage—she gives her all, no matter what the obstacles. She scores points for the team in shotput, and she’s always willing to try new things (like discus!). Anabel, we’re so happy to have you on the team!
Tennis: Diana Frelinghuysen
The captains pick of the week for tennis is Diana Frelinghuysen! Diana had a great match on Friday and played very well despite being slightly injured. Her opponent was tough, but she managed to stay calm and consistent even when the whole team was watching her. Overall, she is an amazing teammate as she consistently stays positive during practice and always manages to make us laugh! Great job Diana!
Badminton: Alex Zekauskas
The badminton captains’ pick of the week is Alex Zekauskas. Even as a new player this year, she has shown remarkable leadership skills and dedication to helping the team grow —having developed a great serve herself, she shared her technique with a new player during free moments in practice. She also played without her usual doubles partner, who was out sick, for several days, and then seamlessly transitioned back into playing together. Great job Alex! We’re so happy to have you on the team this year!
Lacrosse: Grace Bolner
Grace Bolner is our captains pick of the week! She has been such a crucial part of the teams success throughout the season both on attack and defense. She is at the core of many plays and has consistently held control of the draw, a vital part of the game! Grace also works hard and every practice, and we are so happy to have her on the team!!
