  • Alumnae Weekend and Reunion 2020

    AW Postponement, March 15, 2020

    Dear Alumnae,

After careful consideration, we are writing to inform you that the decision has been made to postpone the upcoming 2020 Alumnae Weekend and Reunion, originally scheduled for April 17-18, 2020.

This difficult choice was made in light of the rapidly developing situation with respect to COVID-19. Brearley is striving to observe the utmost care and consideration for the well-being of our alumnae and entire school community. With Governor Cuomo's guidance this past week limiting gatherings of more than 500 people (albeit larger than our alumnae weekend events) and as "social distancing" has increasingly become the suggested approach for communities around the nation, we felt there was no choice but to postpone one of the School's largest and most well-attended events of the year.

We understand and share the disappointment and potential inconvenience that this cancellation holds for all our alumnae, and especially for our milestone reunion year class's ending in 0 and 5. It is our hope you understand and wholeheartedly support our decision to wait until a more prudent date to gather for our annual weekend of festive and educational camaraderie.

A new date has yet to be confirmed. Please rest assured that Brearley will thoroughly communicate revised event information as soon as we are able. It is also our hope that we will reinstate much of the wonderful programming, experiences and speakers that we had planned to offer in April.

We remain grateful for the plucky enthusiasm of Brearley alumnae and look forward to seeing you on East 83rd Street as soon as possible.
