Established in 1999 by the late Lois Kahn Wallace ’57, the award honors and encourages a Brearley alumna at the beginning of her career as a published writer, or the beginning of writing in a new genre. Fiction and non-fiction works are eligible, as are books for children and young adults in addition to those for adults. The award is conferred approximately every two years, and carries an honorarium.
