Balance is an important educational principle. In addition to an academic curriculum that insures a well-rounded education, Brearley also offers its students a variety of programs that refresh and broaden their focus.

Beginning in Kindergarten, students experience each year with growing awareness that they are part of many communities: their homeroom, grade and School division; each of the cocurricular and extracurricular activity groups they join; and the larger Brearley community.

The invigorating challenges of an outstanding academic program, the solid achievements attained in self-chosen activities, and the opportunities to work with and for others in community service together produce resourceful young women who are prepared to find their places in the world after Brearley.
