Benefit

The Brearley Benefit, a gala event presented each spring, provides support for faculty salaries, financial assistance, the performing and visual arts programs or other aspects of the School’s educational program that can make good use of additional funding.

Sponsored each year by the Parents’ Association, the event is organized by a Steering Committee made up of current parent volunteers and an alumna representative. Working with subcommittees and in consultation with the Development Office, the group plans every aspect of the Benefit. The parent volunteers on the Underwriting Committee solicit gifts of $2,500, $5,000, $7,500, $10,000 and $15,000 to provide leadership support for the Benefit purpose.

In planning future Benefit events, the Development Office works with a Benefit Long-Range Planning Committee made up of parent volunteers. This committee looks into possible programs, venues and featured artists from within the Brearley community, and makes recommendations for possible future Benefit Chairs and Committee members.

If you are interested in volunteering for any of the Benefit committees, please contact Lewise Lucaire, Director of Development at (212) 570-8610; llucaire@brearley.org.
