Annual Fund
The Annual Fund, raised each year from members of the School community, covers the budget gap between the total income derived from both tuition and endowment income and the total cost of the educational program. That gap, generally about 10% of the total operating revenues, is covered by yearly gifts from parents, alumnae, parents of alumnae, grandparents, current and former faculty and staff, matching gift companies, foundations and other friends of the School.

In addition to providing crucial budget support for the School, the Annual Fund is an important measure of the involvement of members of the School community. Brearley enjoys impressive support from its alumnae and parents each year, with 40% of alumnae—the highest among its peer schools—and 92% of parents participating.
Donors to the Annual Fund make their gifts in cash, stocks and corporate matching gifts and, in some cases, from charitable lead trusts and grants from private foundations. Every gift, whatever its size, is important and greatly appreciated. Those who are able to participate at a leadership level may give in one of the categories listed below:

- Founder’s Circle: $50,000 and above
- 1884 Society: $25,000–$49,999
- Benefactor: $15,000–$24,999
- Patron: $10,000–$14,999
- Friend: $5,000–$9,999
- Associate: $3,000–$4,999
- Sponsor: $1,250–$2,999
Young Alumnae Giving Levels (Currently Classes 1998–2007)
East Enders: $610
Making a gift of $610 honors your own Brearley experience and helps to assure that Brearley continues to provide the best possible education for its students today.
Beavers’ Den: $250
Your gift of $250 helps Brearley teachers prepare their students for success and leadership. Because your gift will be matched dollar for dollar, it will yield $500 to support today’s Brearley.
Young Alumnae Challenge
Every gift made by a young alumna is matched dollar for dollar by an alumna of an earlier generation. By making a gift to the Annual Fund, you increase Brearley’s alumnae participation rate and automatically double your gift.
