We invite you to join us as underwriters of the 2008 Brearley Benefit, “Brearley Tribeca II: The Triumphant Return.”

The proceeds from the Benefit will support the funding for a full-time community service coordinator at Brearley who will work with our girls from Kindergarten through Class XII. Community service has long been an integral part of the Brearley education and philosophy, and although there are many initiatives in the Lower, Middle and Upper Schools, the process is too often fragmented and needs to be centralized. As Brearley recognizes that youth volunteerism can only be successful if our girls understand the impact of their accomplishments, the community service director would work with our staff to arrange appealing, age-appropriate activities and would lead discussions with the girls as they reflect on their service experiences. Additional funding to enhance and enrich this important school program would benefit our daughters and generations of future students.

We recognize our Benefit underwriters by fulfilling their request for the number of Benefit tickets needed for the event as well as by acknowledging them in the evening’s program. There are five underwriter levels: $15,000, $10,000, $7,500, $5,000 and $2,500. We hope you will be inspired by our purpose to stretch to the highest possible level.

Underwriting contributions secure the financial success of the Benefit. We have worked hard to hold down the cost of the Benefit and are confident that ticket sales will cover expenses, including providing complimentary tickets for faculty and staff and families receiving financial assistance. The net proceeds of the Benefit will be fully committed to the funding of the Community Service Program.

Given the importance of our cause, we are eager to exceed past Benefit totals. Community service creates wonderful opportunities for our girls to learn about themselves and prepare for life within a global society. Thank you for recognizing the contributions that this position would make to Brearley and its students by considering a leadership role in support of the 2008 Benefit.
