Lower School and V/VI Sports

Lower School Friday Sports

The Friday Sports program, offers students in Classes K-IV a gymnastics and soccer program tailored to their age group. Both programs meet at the end of the regular Friday school day, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The gymnastics program is for girls of all abilities; the only requirement is an interest in learning more about the sport. The soccer program, offered to students in Classes II-IV, provides a chance to learn the basic rules of soccer as well as to participate in small-sided-team games. Both programs are taught by members of the Physical Education Department.

V/VI Sports

The V/VI program serves as an introduction both to specific sports and to the challenges of team competition. In the fall, soccer and volleyball are offered; in winter, students can participate in the Class VI swim club and basketball; spring offerings include lacrosse, softball and track. The V/VI coaches create a welcoming atmosphere by placing an emphasis on learning each sport and ensuring equal playing time for all athletes. As is true for our Middle School teams, everyone is welcome to participate.. The goal of the V/VI program is to promote the love of sport and to encourage students to remain active in sports throughout their Middle School and Upper School years.
